The SAIL Foundation Announces Launch
The SAIL Foundation will support the innovative Tallahassee high school
Tallahassee— XX/XX/2020 — Today, The SAIL Foundation announced its launch with a mission to support the development and implementation of school improvement initiatives to leverage community resources to strengthen the education SAIL High School. “SAIL High School has provided unique and many life-changing educational experiences for thousands of students over it’s 45 year history” said Rosanne Wood, Leon County School Board member and SAIL Principal (1978-2010). “This foundation will offer alumni and the broader community a way to continue fostering creativity and academic achievement for so many deserving students.”
SAIL’s Influence on Tallahassee
SAIL High School is a nationally recognized example of how a school which encourages individualism can lead students to value learning on a deeper level. With an innovative school model, SAIL was a trailblazer in Tallahassee upon its opening in 1975, offering alternative opportunities for students in Leon County. The launch of the SAIL Foundation provides the Tallahassee community the ability to get involved to support a school that has impacted the lives of many in the area.
Getting Involved
“Supporting our public schools has never been more important than it is right now. That is why I am so excited to be part of the launch of the SAIL Foundation,” explains Jodi Wilkof, Founding President of the SAIL Foundation Board of Directors and SAIL parent. “We know we have amazing SAIL alumni. Through the SAIL Foundation, we will be able to access that vast alumni network – along with their families and friends, to give back to a school that has meant so much to so many.”

The SAIL Alumni Foundation, Inc., founded in 2020, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on supporting SAIL High School’s students and educational initiatives. SAIL High School was founded in 1975 with the belief that all students can learn and succeed when provided a learning environment that meets their needs and interests. SAIL is a public school that emphasizes individualization, democratic decision making, and application of academics in a humanistic atmosphere.
